The Best Classic Cars and Most Famous Cars Revealed!

Click4reg have always been intrigued by a little bit of nostalgia. From purchasing a dream car to reuniting with a long lost cherished plate, we love to hear about it. And as car lovers, we’ve recently been on the hunt to find what we think are the best cars of all time.

Plus, now it doesn’t have to be just opinion – what better way to discover than with a study that quizzes participants on their knowledge of different classic cars?

We asked internet users worldwide to identify the make and model of various cars in our quiz. We've also had a bit of fun, with a further quiz to test their knowledge on famous movie cars.

1. What are the best classic cars? The results

To establish the top classic cars of all time, our quiz went live online to allow people from around the world to test their knowledge. And the results are in!

In first place, Click4reg’s top classic car is the Ferrari Dino – 82% could correctly identify this beauty, perhaps due to its particularly iconic appearance.

Arguably the most recognisable, the Volkswagen Beetle claims second place. Voted the World’s most influential car of the 20th Century, it comes as no surprise that as many as 80% could identify it, making it perhaps the second best classic car of all time.

In third place, is the legendary BMW M1 – with 79% of participants recognising it, the M1 is testament to its manufacturer's reputation as one of the best global car brands.

2. What are the most famous cars? The results

As a fun twist, we also created a quiz to reveal the most famous cars from movies!

Correctly guess by 87%, the DMC DeLorean takes first place. Evidently, the Doc’s time machine has been so influential that it is now the most recognisable worldwide.

In second place is the legendary Batmobile – 85% correctly identified it and the related franchise. And while Batman’s car has changed in appearance over the years, its cultural impact has obviously permeated the world.
