With the wide range of car brands and models available in the UK, it makes sense that some features of certain vehicles make them more or less popular amongst different age groups.

Different types of drivers have different needs, for example the younger generation may want a sturdy, fuel efficient car for road trips, a 30-something may need a big enough car to carry around a family, whereas an older person may want something small and easy to park.

Other things to consider are how often the person will be driving, how many passengers they will tend to have and any physical limitations the person may have. These factors all tend to differ due to age group, hence why certain cars are more popular at different stages of life.
